Supporting Maple Street School
Maple Street School is grateful to the parents, grandparents, alumni, trustees and friends who, as volunteers and ambassadors for the school's advancement efforts and as donors, have given their time, resources and, most importantly, their conviction, to furthering the goals, values and mission of Maple Street School.
The Development Office encompasses all of the efforts that help community members deepen their connections to one another and to the school through community events, alumni relations, communications and fundraising for annual and capital needs. We invite you to explore the number of initiatives and volunteer opportunities available under the large umbrella of advancement.
Once again, thank you for your support of the school. Please feel free to contact the Development Office if you are interested in volunteering your time or have any questions about the different opportunities of supporting the school.
Sincerely,
Kate Bryan
Development Officer
The Annual Fund
An Annual Fund gift is a direct way of helping Maple Street School maintain valuable programs and qualities that keep it unique. It supports financial aid for qualified students each year by making up the difference between tuition cost and the additional $3,010 needed to educate each child. Our Annual Fund goals have continued to increase, and we are looking to raise $92,000 for 2012-2013. Last year, 100% of our trustees, faculty and staff participated in the Annual Fund, and 99% of our parents. You may make a secure on-line gift by clicking below. In addition, annual special events are run by the parent association and the funds from these are earmarked for scholarships. Sponsorship
The Board of Trustees has made a commitment to provide funding for up to one third of the students. As the school has grown, the number of children we support has grown as well, and the amount needed for scholarships has increased. It has been a challenge to secure the resources to meet the need and our commitment. To meet this worthy challenge we seek sponsors who will help send a child to Maple Street School.
Planned Giving
Through the successful efforts of a capital campaign from 2000-2006, Maple Street is debt-free and fully operational on its annual budget. However, we do not currently hold a sufficient Endowment Fund to provide the salaries deserving of our excellent teachers or the funds for vibrant faculty development. And in recent years it has become necessary to increase tuitions at a rate which outpaces the cost of living increases for many families, threatening our accessibility and making the need for more scholarship funds urgent.
To insure excellence and accessibility at Maple Street, we have created the Planned Giving Initiative. While there are many ways to create a legacy to benefit Maple Street School, adding the school as a beneficiary of your estate is a significant way to insure the school’s continued success in the future.
We invite you to take the opportunity to make a lasting difference by investing in Maple Street School. There are several options to consider when you participate in our Planned Giving Initiative:
· A Bequest
· A Charitable Gift Annuity
· A Charitable Remainder Trust
· A Charitable Lead Trust
Our Head of School, Fran Bisselle, would be happy to talk with you and explore these options. In addition, Maple Street School has partnered with the Vermont Community Foundation to serve our donors. The Vermont Community Foundation helps build and manage charitable funds created by individuals, families, groups, organizations, and institutions to improve the quality of life in Vermont.
Thank you for considering how you can help Maple Street School well into your future and ours.
